A 30-year-old man was found murdered on a service lane near south Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, police said today.

The deceased was identified as Amit Bhirwani, a resident of Faridabad. Bhirwani was an executive at a private company in Safdarjung Enclave area, said a senior police officer.

Bhirwani suffered from multiple stab injuries and none of his belongings - including wallet and mobile phone - were reported to be missing. Police suspected this to be a case of personal enmity, said the officer.

According to the police, the incident was reported around 9 PM yesterday, when a passerby saw Bhirwani's body lying in a pool of blood and called up the police reporting that a man was lying injured on the service lane beside Ring Road.

A police team rushed Bhirwani to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead.

Investigation was taken up immediately and the police started with the questioning of Bhirwani's colleagues and relatives. However, the police haven't been able to ascertain the identity of the accused so far.

Bhirwani's colleagues told the police that he earlier used to come to the office in his motorbike, but after the metro service opened up till Faridabad, he changed his mode of commuting.

He had left his office on Thursday evening and was heading towards Gate no 4 of AIIMS metro station when the incident took place. "Investigation of the case is underway," the officer added.
