Meeting the long-pending demand of para-medical staff in the private sector for remunerative wages, Kerala Government today issued orders revising their basic pay.

The revision would cover private hospital staffs including those working in ayurveda, homoeopathy, private dispensaries, scanning centres, medical laboratories and ambulance services, state Labour Minister Shibu Baby John said in a release here.

As per the revised scale, the minimum basic pay would be Rs 9,500 and maximum would be Rs 12,100, he said.

The basic pay for nurses would range from Rs 10,575 to Rs 10,875, he said.

The para-medical staff of the private hospitals had been agitating for the past one year pressing their demand and trilateral negotiations involving the government and representatives of hospitals had been held.
