Private Schools' Fees Regulation committee holds maiden meet

:The first meeting of the Private Schools Fees Regulation Committee headed by retired Madras High Court Judge G M Akbar Ali today reviewed fee structures in all private schools affiliated to the CBSE.

A release from Director of School Education L Kumar said the government constituted the Committee last month.

The Committee would study all details relating to the infrastructure in private schools, salaries of teachers and also the establishment expenditure.

It has jurisdiction over all the schools affiliated to all schools affililated Central and State Education Boards, the release added.

There had been demand from most of leaders of public opinion, political parties and educationists that government form a committee to go into the issue of fees levied by private schools and review the fee structure in the larger interest of the parents.
