Priyanka Chopra joins American TV show 'Quantico'

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has joined the cast of ABC drama pilot 'Quantico', which revolves around a group of young FBI recruits.

The series will mark the American TV debut of the 32-year-old 'Mary Kom' star.

The show is about the young recruits, who battle their way through training at the Quantico base in Virginia. One will launch a devastating terrorist attack on the US, reported Deadline.

Priyanka will play Alex Weaver, a brilliant but haunted FBI trainee whose past boils to the surface soon after her arrival at Quantico.

'Quantico' has been executive produced by Mark Gordon, Josh Safran and Nick Pepper.
 

The ABC deal comes after Priyanka had a voice role in the animated feature 'Planes'.

The actress's first single, 'In My City', was also selected as the theme song to the 2013 season of the NFL Network's Thursday Night Football and her cover of Bonnie Raitt's 'I Can't Make You Love Me' was featured in a nationwide campaign for Beats By Dre.

She also became the first woman of Indian descent to be named a Guess Girl.
