Social scientists should come out with details of contemporary issues in agriculture and its impact on the farming community, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU)) vice chancellor, Dr K Ramasamy said today.
Reviewing the progress of social science research, he said that the state government was implementing many schemes, aimed at uplifting the livelihood of farmers.
The impact of such schemes on their lives should be analysed and the impact quantified, he said.
Ramasamy also stressed the importance of promoting integrated farming system and its viability to the farming community and provide details whether its profitability has been scientifically proved.
