Probe demanded into mysterious death of university student

Prominent socio-cultural organisation of Barak Valley, 'Goirik Bharat', today demanded a high level probe into the death of the central university student through a memorandum to Cachar district additional deputy commissioner Debashis Chakraborty.

The memorandum expressed doubt about the police or administration's efforts to investigate into the incident even as the police failed to find any clue to the death after nearly two months of the incident.

According to Goirik Bharat's organising secretary, Mani Bhushan Choudhury, Kishlay had disappeared under mysterious circumstances when he was in a procession for immersion of Goddess Durga's idol at Sadarghat here.

Kishlay's body was recovered by police when found afloat on river Barak near Katigorah, 30 km from here, a few days later.
