A special investigation team was probing the case related to the alleged morphing of women's photographs taken during marriages for pornographic purpose, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the assembly today.
Vijayan was replaying to a submission by C K Nanu (JD-S) on the need for a detailed probe into the complaints against the owner and staff of Sadayam studio that they had allegedly morphed photographs of women taken during marriage ceremonies and used it for porno pictures.
Stating that it was a serious issue, Vijayan said two persons, Dineshan and Satheeshan, the co-owners of the studio at Vadakara in Kozhikode district, has been arrested in connection with the incident and search was on for Bibeesh, another person involved in the crime.
Police have sealed the studio and recovered several documents from there, Vijayan said.
Nanu pointed out that the incident have created anxiety among the people in the area and wanted the government to ensure severe punishment to the culprits.
Many families in the area, who had assigned the studio for shooting family functions, were worried after the morphing incident came to light, he said.
The Kerala State Women's Commission had also initiated asuo motu case on the matter and had directed Superintendent of Police, Kozhikode, to form a special team to probe the issue under his supervision.
