Probe on over ACP, 3 constables 'stealing' Rs 3 cr from CCB

Police today said they are probing a complaint that an Assistant Commissioner of Police and three constables allegedly stole Rs three crore from the strong room of the central crime branch.

"We are investigating the complaint that Rs three crore was missing from the strong room. There is a huge cash (demonetised currency notes) lying there. We are counting all of them," said Satish Kumar, joint police commissioner (CCB).

Police sources said there was about Rs 15 crore inthe strong room.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru central division, Dr Chandragupta, said they were looking for the ACP. "He is nottraceable at this moment," he said.
 

Besides the complaint on missing cash from the strong room, police sources said they are also looking into two other complaints that the ACP and constables had extorted a huge amount of money from a Tamil Nadu trader and a man from the city.
