Lokayukta judge N K Sudhindra Rao directed the Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta), Bangalore Urban, to investigate the complaint filed by city-based advocate Yogeshwar and submit the probe report by August 2.

In the complaint filed on May 24, Yeddyurappa and Somanna have been charged with illegal denotification of 33 acres of land in Nagadevanahalli near here for pecuniary gain, causing loss to the state exchequer. Besides the two, Somanna's wife Shailaja and son Naveen have been cited as co-accused.

Yeddyurappa is facing a spate of alleged illegal land denotfication cases and had been arrested last year in one of them before being released on bail.
