Probe stayed by 4 weeks in case against Yeddyurappa,Shivakumar

Justice V Jagannathan granted the stay in the probe by Lokayukta police in connection with the case when the criminal petitions filed by Shivakumar and Yeddyurappa seeking quashing of the case against them came up for hearing.

Both Shivakumar and Yeddyurappa have already been granted anticipatory bail in the case by the High Court.

The Lokayukta court had on July 5 ordered issue of summons to Yeddyurappa, Shivakumar and others in the case filed by social activist T J Abraham and Kabbalegowda and adjourned the matter to August 2.

The four others named in the complaints are Chandrashekhar (Revenue Inspector), Hanumanth (Tehsildar), Doddahanumaiah who have all now retired and Girish Puravankara (builder).

 

The accused have been charged under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1958, IPC and Karnataka Restriction of Transfer of Land Act 1991.
