The process of division of police personnel and infrastructure between Telangana and the successor state has begun, Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police B Prasada Rao said here today.

"The bifurcation process has just started and committees have been formed at government level (for apportioning government employees). In the police department also we have formed committees and today we had a meeting. Right now, the stock-taking process is on with regards to personnel working, assets (infrastructure) as well as the position of the files," Rao told reporters here.

Asked if this process would hamper deployment of forces across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in view of the forthcoming general elections, the AP Police chief said, "they (deployment of security forces and sharing of forces and infrastructure) are going on simultaneously."

Rao said that on June 2, Telangana - the country's 29th state, would come into existence and "we are trying to handle both the issues (deployment and division of Police personnel).
