Addressing a party rally here, CPI-ML General Secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya alleged that both Congress-led UPA and BJP-led NDA were "neck deep" in corruption, hence for a better option against the two, the country needed a third front.
"As an alternative to these combinations there is a need for creation of a third front for policy change in the country... The process of bringing Left parties and parties believing in democratic values will start from Bihar," Bhattacharya said.
He said that through a rally in the national capital on November 4, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi tried to market FDI in multi-brand retail.
Accusing the UPA government of "working on diktat" of the USA, Bhattacharya said prices of essential commodities have touched sky-high during Manmohan Singh's regime.
He said the BJP was equally corrupt as reflected by "cases of corruption" against its President Nitin Gadkari.
Hitting out at Lalu Prasad, he said the RJD President was busy "cajoling" Sonia Gandhi and corruption was no issue for his party.
On JD(U) Adhikar rally, he said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was trying to "befool" people and was running away from real issues of development.
The rally was also addressed by State Secretary of CPI Rajendra Singh, his CPI(M) counterpart Vijaykant Thakur and former Union minister and Lok Manch chief Devendra Prasad Yadav.
