Singh, who was replying to a question asked by Aftab Ahmed during the Question Hour on the concluding day of the monsoon session of the state assembly here, said Expressions of Interest had already been invited for empanelment of mining agencies following a process of pre-qualification based on a pre-determined criteria.
It was also proposed to invite competitive bids limited to the pre-qualified agencies in these areas, which is likely to be completed by October-November 2012, he said.
However, actual mining operations would commence only after prior environmental clearances were obtained by the highest bidders from the competent authority, Singh said.
As far as resumption of mining in the districts of Faridabad, Gurgaon and Mewat is concerned, he said the matter was still pending before the Supreme Court and any step for resumption of mining in these areas would be taken only after the present legal challenges were settled.
The Central Empowered Committee constituted by the Supreme Court had already filed a report after detailed deliberations with the state government. However, a final decision on these reports was still awaited, he added.
Meanwhile in a written reply to another question raised by BJP's Anil Vij, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda denied there was any resentment among the police personnel of the state. (more)
