Procter and Gamble Q2 net up 18% at Rs 91 crore

Net sales up 13% at Rs 644 cr; feminine care, healthcare segments continue to deliver double-digit growth

FMCG major Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (P&G) today reported 18.40 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 90.66 crore for the second quarter ended December 2014.

The company, which follows July to June fiscal, had posted net profit of Rs 76.57 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.

Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 644.03 crore, up 12.87 per cent as against Rs 570.59 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

"Both feminine care and healthcare businesses continued to deliver double-digit growth in a competitive market environment behind superior products, strong innovation and strength of product portfolio," the company said.
 

Overall expenses during the quarter stood at Rs 532.12 crore, up 10.01 per cent as compared to Rs 483.68 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company's scrip was trading 0.80 per cent up at Rs 6,972.20 apiece during afternoon session on the BSE.
