Procter & Gamble shares spurt nearly 7% on robust Q2 show

Shares of Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care zoomed nearly 7 per cent today after the FMCG major reported a 61.81 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended December 31.

The stock surged 6.91 per cent to settle at Rs 5,864.35 on BSE. During the day, it jumped 10.27 per cent to Rs 6,049.

At NSE, shares of the company soared 6.80 per cent to end at Rs 5,867.15.

P&G on Saturday reported a 61.81 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 146.7 crore for the second quarter ended December 31.

The company, which follows July to June fiscal, had posted a net profit of Rs 90.66 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, it had said in a BSE filing.
 

Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 713.23 crore, up 10.74 per cent as against Rs 644.03 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
