Irked at the blatant violation of its order on construction sites, National Green Tribunal today directed South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to produce complete records on projects it has sanctioned in the last three years.
A bench, headed by Justice Swantanter Kumar, castigated SDMC for not efficiently enforcing its directions on construction and burning of leaves and waste material.
It also directed Uttar Pradesh, Noida and Haryana authorities to give complete information on number of challans carried out till date for open burning of leaves and dumping of debris.

"How many cases of violation have you noticed and what action have you taken in this regard? Till date you have not filed any report. Unfortunately, we are not going to leave you easily. Whenever we pass through the roads, we hardly find compliance of our orders.
"We also want complete information as to how many projects (single and multi-storey) you have sanctioned till date in the last three years," the bench said posting the matter for hearing tomorrow.
The directions came after photographs were placed which depicted that none of the directions of the NGT was being followed in true spirit.
According to the photographs, a construction site in Mehrauli had not put tarpaulin sheets around the area of construction and even people working there had no helmets.
On the issue of construction of multi-level parking facility in Lajpat Nagar, SDMC reiterated that it would construct the facility for nearly 650 cars in the 100-bed hospital campus.
With regard to DTC's proposal to deploy 10,000 new buses in the national capital, the green bench said "the space needed has to be taken into consideration even if you wish to introduce a large number of vehicles".
"You have to take into account the rationalisation of running these no. Of vehicles. You need to think whether these buses will be small or big, their routes, timing etc.
"You will also have to ensure that equal number of cars are not added at the same time because it will lead to chaos on roads," the bench said.
