Production at Damodar Valley Corporation's (DVC) 210 MW capacity thermal power plant in Bokaro was stopped following a technical problem, a company official said today.

The project chief Pramod Kumar said the plant, which was already facing shortage of coal, was closed after technical problem on September 25.

However, Sub-Divisional Officer (Bermo) Bhubaneswar Prasad alleged that DVC shut down the plant after it was served with a six-hour ultimatum on September 25, asking the public sector undertaking to make arrangement to contain fly ash that was polluting the Konar river.
