Prof held for molesting girl student

A professor of Bodoland University was arrested on the charge of allegedly molesting a girl student of his department, the police said today.

Associate Professor and Head of Economics department, Sanswrang Mushahary was arrested last night after some students of the university lodged an FIR at Kokrajhar police station accusing him of allegedly molesting a girl.

The university's students' union also complained to the Vice-chancellor and women's cell against him in connection with the alleged molestation.

Mushahary, who is also Principal in-charge of Music and Fine Arts College Kokrajhar, was produced before the court of Kokrajhar CJM Nasim Akthar who remanded him to 14 days judicial custody rejecting his bail petition.
 

The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) and several other students organisations have demanded stern action against Mushahary.
