A professor and a former TV camera man were arrested today for allegedly duping several persons by promising government jobs and collecting money to the tune of Rs 3 crore, police said.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Thambidurai told reporters that 88 persons had given money to Professor Devarajan and former cameraman Arjunan for getting recruited in Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited and government jobs on posts like Public Relations Officer.

The two have confessed that they took money, he said.

Arjunan of Chennai had already been arrested earlier in a cheating case. Devarajan's wife, a school teacher, is absconding.
