Professor, former TV cameraman arrested for cheating

A professor and former TV cameraman were today arrested for allegedly cheating several persons by promising government jobs, and collecting money to the tune of Rs 3 crore from them.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Thambidurai said that 88 persons had given money to Professor Devarajan and former cameraman Arjunan for getting jobs in government firms.

The two had confessed to their involvement in the crime, he said.

Arjunan, who hails from Chennai, had been arrested earlier also in a cheating case.
