Professor K M Shrivastava dies

K M Shrivastava, senior-most professor at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) here, died last night. He was 63.

He collapsed at the Nizammuddin Railway Station where he had gone to board a train for Bhopal soon after returning to Delhi from IIMC-Jammu. He was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was declared brought dead.

Shrivastava was professor at IIMC for more than 25 years. He had done pioneering work in training foreign journalists from developing countries especially from Africa and South East Asia.

He also ran the well-sought after special media sensitisation programme for personnel from the Indian armed forces, paramilitary and police.
 

Shrivastava, a bachelor, is survived by his mother and four sisters. His body is being taken to Bhopal for cremation.
