The incident took place yesterday when V P Asthana, Professor at Kashi Hindu University was returning after attending a marriage, police said. The professor along with his two sons and nephew were in the car.
The nephew, who was driving the car, lost control over the vehicle when he tried to save a bicycle rider who suddenly came on the way. The car then rammed into a tree.
Asthana died when he was being taken to hospital whereas the bicyclist is critical and admitted to the ICU. Corr RBL RAI
