Crude palm oil prices softened by 0.69 per cent to Rs 516.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid easing demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in March shed Rs 3.60, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 516.80 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 459 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in April eased by Rs 3.60, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 522.60 per 10 kg in 664 lots.

Analysts said besides profit booking by participants at existing levels, fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly led to the fall in crude palm oil prices at the futures trade.
