Programme on India's linguistic diversity

Lalit Kala Akademi is organising a three-day programme next month highlighting India's linguistic diversity.

The event would commence with the release of volumes of books "General Introduction: The Being of Bhasha," by People's Linguistic Survey of India (PLSI) and four other books.

The programme would also feature an exhibition of masks at the multi-art Expression and Eco cultural mapping of India, a statement from the Akademi said adding Dhrupad recital in various language would also be performed by various artists.

The masks are of various forms and guise and are one of the many ways through which cultures have given voice to their cognition and most sublte emotions to define their inner and outer realities, it said.
 

Also reprints of illustrated manuscripts like Jehangir Nama, Akbar Nama, Razam Nama, Shah Nama, Shiv leela Amrit, Krishna leela would also be put on display.
