Prohibitory order clamped in areas of Nagaland

Prohibitory order under Section 144 of CrPC was today clamped in areas of Dimapur district of Nagaland bordering Assam apprehending breach of peace.

The order issued by Dimapur District Magistrate N Hushili Sema said, "It is evident that the situation in and around Dimapur and Karbi Anglong districts especially between Indisen and Rilan villages is critical with reports of destruction of property and movement of large number of Naga people resulting in law and order problem."

The situation called for immediate action to prevent breach of peace in those areas, the order said.

The order, banning the assembly of five or more people, will remain in force till further notice.
