Prohibitory order promulgated in Chaibasa town

Prohibitory order was promulgated in Chaibasa town today after a clash between two groups while one person was injured in police firing.

Prohibitory order under section 144 CrPC has been promulgated in parts of the Chaibasa township including Badi Bazar, Gwala Patti, Jasoda chowk, Seraikela Chowk after two groups belonging to different communities indulged in clashes over an issue today, said Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar), Deepu Kumar.

He said one person was injured when police fired in the air to disperse the warring groups.

The situation is well under control and adequate force and magistrates have been deployed in the affected areas to maintain law and order, he added.
 

Asked about the reason behind the clash, SDO said it was being looked into as the priority of the administration was to restore law and order, which is now well under control.
