Prohibitory orders bans use of microphone at Pobitora

Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC has been promulgated in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam today banning the use of microphones and musical instruments in and around it.

The order was promulgated by Morigaon district administration as the use of loudspeakers by picnic groups outside the sanctuary creating sound pollution is harmful to wild animals inside.

In a separate order, Morigaon district additional deputy commissioner Pranjit Gogoi promulgated a prohibitory order banning poaching, capturing, selling and consuming migratory birds in the district.
