Prohibitory orders imposed in Rajouri

Prohibitory orders have been imposed in Rajouri town, where a clash broke out between two communities.

Restrictions under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) was imposed in the town yesterday after a clash broke out in the area on Friday, police said.

The restrictions have been imposed to bring the situation back to normalcy and as a precautionary measure, a police officer said.

The town observed partial 'bandh' as shops and business establishment remained closed in protest against the clash in Naban Mohalla, in which two persons were injured.

Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) district president Mohin Malhotra was detained in connection with the incident, police said.
 

Meanwhile, VHP state President Ramakant Dubey in a press confrence blamed the district authorities for deteriorating law and order situations in the town.

"Some communal elements have definitely intruded into Rajouri town and are always ready to disturb the peaceful atmosphere", Dubey said.
