Prohibitory orders in Seoni town of MP following a murder

Prohibitory orders were today imposed in the city and Barghat locality after one person was killed and three others seriously injured last night, police said.

Prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC (restraining movement of people) had been imposed while the efforts to arrest the accused were on, Seoni collector Dhanraju S said, adding heavy police security had been deployed in the troubled area.

Three people were returning to Khursipur village after being released from jail following a court order along with their supporters. They were attacked by a rival group, killing one person and injuring three others, District Superintendent of police A K Pandey said. There was previous enmity between the two groups.
 

While Pradeep Hawat (27) died on the spot, Umesh Patela, Rajendra Patela and Gurudayal Patela sustained grievous injuries and were admitted to the district hospital.

Police have registered a case for murder and other offences against 20 persons. No arrests have been made yet.
