Projects polluting environment will not be encouraged: CM

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today said thegovernment was keen that no projects polluting environmentwere encouraged in the Union Territory.

He was speaking during the Flagging off the first four day international rigetta competition organised under the banner Sailing contest in the East Coast jointly organised by the Puducherry Department of Tourism of Puducherry and French Embassy in India.

The Chief Minister said that projects polluting environment and damaging the unique features of Puducherry nurtured over the years would never be encouraged.

He said the government was supporting 'heritage tourism and also leisure and pilgrim tourisms'.

He said that the smart city project being implemented in Puducherry also added to the vibrant relationship between India and France.
 

French Ambassador to India Alexandre Ziegler thanked the Puducherry government for extending cooperation to hold the rigetta.
