Projects worth crores of rupees started in Noida: Sharma

Several developmental projects worth crores of ruppes have been started in Noida and its adjacent areas during the last one year of BJP government, Union Minister and Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma today said.

"Several developmental projects have been started in Noida, Greater Noida, Jewar and Khurja areas in the last one year of the BJP government," Sharma told reporters here.

"A 1,320 MW super thermal power project at Khurja, costing Rs 10,498 crore, has been sanctioned and work has been started on the project," he said.

"Khurja Development Authority has started the road and drain work in Khurja city and total project cost is Rs 6.87 crore," Sharma said.
 

The Gautam Buddha Nagar MP, who adopted village Nimka under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, said a bank branch has been opened there and through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) the development of village is being done.

Mint, Pawan Hans, Airport authority and NGOs will develop this village, he said.

On the issue of Jewar airport, the minister said that he met UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and has discussed about the revival of the Jewar airport project.

He said a cultural project of Central government was started on 25 acre land near Galgotia University.

Through MP fund, projects worth Rs 2.5 crore in Noida, Dadri, Jewar, Sikandrabad and Khurja area have been sanctioned and work on these is in progress, he said.

He said the first cooking science university project has also been started at sector 62 on 13 acre land with cost of Rs 175 crore. This will be country's first such university, he added.

The Tourism Minister said that India's place in global tourism ranking has been upgraded to 52nd rank from 65th rank. Foreign tourists arrivals have increased from 67.98 lakh of last year to 73.10 lakh of this year while foreign exchange earnings increased from last year's Rs 1,04351 crore to 1,14255 crore, he said.
