Police said following reports of infiltration of suspected militants, a team of commandos surrounded a part of Khongman Basikhong area in the district and launched a search operation yesterday.
During the operation, Lalmani was arrested and a mobile phone handset was recovered from his possession, sources said adding that preliminary interrogation revealed that he was allegedly involved in unlawful activities in different parts of the state.
He has been handed over to the Imphal West police station for further interrogation, sources added.
