Thousands of students and their parents have taken a big sigh of relief after CBSE restored affiliation to a prominent school in Patna in the wake of a controversy last year involving a girl student.
"We have received a letter from CBSE restoring affiliation to the school," Principal of DAV BSEB V S Ojha told PTI today.
An elated Principal said the restoration letter from CBSE is a welcome step as it saved career of thousands of students studying whose fate was hanging in balance with the CBSE keeping the restoration decision pending.

"Now that the school has got back its affliation, the Electricity board should reconsider its notice of eviction and run the school under its guidance," Ojha said making a plea to the BPHCL to keep in mind the future of large number of students including wards of the Board employees.
General Manager, Human Resources of BPHCL Rajiv Ranjan said that if the school approaches the Board with reply to queries raised regarding irregularities and future plan "the management of the BPHCL will look into it."
Union minister of State for Human Resources Development Upendra Kushwaha, who hails from Bihar,had earlier promised to intervene in the matter related to de-affiliation of DAV BSEB.
The uncertainity of restoration of affiliation to the school had threatened career of students as the CBSE had directed the school not to give registration to the students for class IXth and XIth as it would have made them eligible to appear in the board and XII examinations in 2018.
Trouble had hit the premier school of the city after a +2 student went missing on February 28, 2015. She surfaced three weeks later on March 19 and during questioning by the police, she revealed that she was deliberately failed in Class XI examination.
Surprisingly, the school procured from the CBSE her admit card for Class XII examination, but the same could be be delivered to her as she had gone missing. She was allegedly gang-raped while in captivity of two unidentified youths.
Police had arrested three teachers of the school in this connection and the school Principal Ramanuj Prasad was suspended by the DAV management.
In the wake of the episode,CBSE ordered de-affiliation of the school through a letter on May 19, 2015.
