In yet another incident of road rage in the national capital, a 37-year-old property dealer was shot at by three men after his car brushed them in Central Delhi's Patel Nagar area last night.

The incident took place around 9:15 PM last night when the victim, identitied as Vipin Rajput was returning home from his office in West Patel Nagar Block-24 in his Hyundai Verna car with an associate.

"As he drove toward his home Block-37 in the same area, his car brushed a man walking on the road along with two other men. Soon after the incident, the trio hurled abuses on Rajput," said a police official.

Rajput came out of the car and got into a heated argument with the trio. As tensions soared, one of the three men whipped out a pistol and fired a shot at Rajput hitting him in his abdomen, the official said.

The trio then fled the spot while Rajput was rushed to BLK hospital. Police got a PCR call about the incident from the victim's wife.

Local police has recovered an empty cartridge from the spot. Police has also recovered the CCTV footage of the area in which the attack was recorded to identify the attackers.

Rajput's condition is said to be critical and he was not fit for statement.

A case of attempt to murder under Indian Penal Code and Arms Act has been registered with Patel Nagar police station and investigations are on, police said.

There has been a spate of cases of road rage incidents in the national capital in the recent past. On Sunday, a 22-year-old man was shot at by his neighbour following a heated exchange over parking of motorcycle on road in their colony in outer Delhi's Narela area here.

Last month, a Manipuri youth was also killed by five men in south Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur area in a case of road rage.
