A property dealer was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified bike-borne assailants in East Delhi's Geeta Colony area here this morning.

The 44-year-old property dealer, Nawab, was standing outside an under-construction building in Aaram Park area at around 10 AM when two unidentified assailants reached the spot and fired at him from close range, police said.

Locals saw Nawab lying in a pool of blood and informed police, which rushed him to Swami Dayanand hospital where he died during treatment.

"Prima facie it seems to be a case of personal enmity. We have registered a case at Geeta Colony police station. Further investigations are on," said a police official.

The victim lived with his family at Khureji, which is close to where the incident took place.

Nawab worked as a property dealer-cum-financer in the area.

"We have questioned his family and other associates who have told us that he used to fight with somebody over phone. There are possibilities that he may be having enmity with someone over money or property," police said.
