Prostitution racket busted in Vasant Vihar, 4 women held

According to police, the women-- aged between 25 and 29 years -- were living in hotels of Pahar Ganj Delhi, and have been in India on tourist visa.

They were operating the racket behind Hotel Jay Pee Continental, Vasant Vihar in South Delhi, police said.

One foreign woman 'pimp' has been identified but is absconding.

The 'pimp' charged between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 per girl per night. The charges increased to even Rs 1 lakh for other services including belly dancing, weekend parties and travel companions to various destinations like Simla, Jaipur and Goa.

According to the accused, there is a great demand for women from the erstwhile Soviet Union involved in flesh trade in the NCR region.

 

All the four women have been arrested under various sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and the Foreigner's Act, police said, adding Uzbek Embassy and Turkmenistan Embassy in Delhi have been intimated regarding the arrest of their nationals.

These women had been operating flesh trade racket in Delhi and the NCR region since the past three years.

Efforts are on to apprehend the woman 'pimp'.

Previously, on October 8 an alleged international prostitution racket being run from the posh Greater Kailash Part-II area of South-East Delhi was busted and seven persons, including three Uzbek women, were arrested.
