Taking note of the growing number of dengue cases in the state, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Javeed Ahmed today issued directives to policemen to protect themselves from the mosquito-borne disease.
In a letter to district police chiefs', he said, "Besides ensuring preventive measures in police lines, police stations and outposts, the policemen should wear full sleeve shirts during duty to protect themselves from the mosquito bite".
The DGP also directed to ensure fogging in and around police compounds and use mosquito nets to check the dengue menace.
Around 194 cases of dengue have been reported in the state, and two persons have died so far, according to state health department.
