Protest against car parking rules in airport area

Car drivers demonstrated in the parking area outside the airport building today in protest against "arbitrary" parking rules by the private agency assigned for carparking arrangement by the N S C B International airport authorities.

The drivers were seen in the morning hours as agitating against rise in parking feee from Rs 60 to Rs 100 and decreasing the stipulated parking time from four to two hours, several passengers said.

An airport official claimed there was no disruption in passnger arrival and departure for any 'incident' outside the lounge area.

The Car Driver's Association alleged even vehicles opting for 5-minute halt were charged Rs 100 and vowed to continue protest.
