Thousands of farmers and tribals in Nashik district's Timbakeshwar town took out a morcha to the local police station to protest the alleged razing of a cultivable farm.

The morcha was taken out under the banner of Shramajivi Sanghatana, whose founder Vivek Pandit alleged that the local revenue and police officials razed the cultivable farm belonging to one Ramdas Dhatrak of Dumodi and threw out his family members, on the direction of an 'akhada' stationed there for the Kumbh mela, a release said.

Later, Nashik's Deputy Superintendent of Police C S Devraj listened to the demands of the protestors and assured that action would be taken against all those found to be involved in the matter, the release issued by Shramajivi Sanghatana added.
