The protesters including workers of Northern railway men's union were demanding arrest of three absconding policemen including SHO of city police station accused of killing Deepak Yadav in their custody on Sep 27, official sources said.

Khan, who was also travelling in the train, met the agitated people after he came to know about the protest and assured them of strict action against the guilty.

The train left Bareilly after a 30-minute delay.

Yadav, son of a train driver, was arrested on charges of chain snatching but later died allegedly in police custody.
