Protesting teachers today blocked road traffic for more than five hours here demanding regularization of 1819 teachers under Education Guarantee Scheme.

However, they lifted their blockade after Moga Deputy Commissioner Parminder Singh Gill assured them a meeting with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to resolve their issues.

The teachers have also been demanding release of 11 teachers detained by the Bathinda Police on July 5.

President of EGS Teachers Association, Kulwant Rani, said they would continue with their struggle until their demands are met by the state government.
