Protests held in Phagwara over Dalit issues

Ambedkar Sena Moolnivasi activists today burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to protest against "atrocities" on Dalits in Gujarat and elsewhere in the country.

Ambedkar Sena Moolnivasi president Harbhajan Suman alleged BJP and RSS are "anti-Dalits".

He said incidents of excesses on Dalits have "escalated during BJP-led state and central governments".

The activists flayed thrashing of four Dalit youths in Gujarat.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Moolnivasi Sangh, another Dalit outfit, burnt effigies of cow vigilantes for thrashing four Dalit youths in Gujarat.

Led by their General Secretary Ajay Moolnivasi, they demanded ban on the cow vigilantes and presented a memorandum to SDM Balbir Raj Singh.
