Leading NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul said today that he is immensely proud that the new Hollywood film "Eddie the Eagle" has been dedicated to the memory of his son, Angad.
In a statement Paul said, "It was a great honour and pleasure to be at the UK premiere for 'Eddie the Eagle' at the Odeon Leicester Square in London yesterday evening.
"'Eddie the Eagle' is a great film, very watchable and funny.Its serious side is about facing huge odds and finding ingenious ways of overcoming them in pursuit of your goals. It also shows how iconoclasts can be an inspiration.
"I am immensely proud that this film has been dedicated to the memory of our son, Angad, who, like Eddie Edwards pursued his ideas and was always determined to see those ideas become reality.Angad's many successes are his permanent memorial.
"My thanks again to the Producer Matthew Vaughn and Director Dexter Fletcher for their wonderful gesture in remembering Angad this way."
Angad died in November last year, aged 45. Angad produced films including "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "Snatch" and "The Tournament".
"Eddie the Eagle", starring Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman, is a based on British Olympic ski jumper Michael "Eddie" Edwards. Jackman plays his fictional coach.
Edwards became famous when he finished last at the Calgary Winter Olympics in 1988. He attracted huge public support for his unorthodox approach and determination.
