With situation limping back to normal in violence-hit Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir, CPI(M) today said authorities should provide all assistance to those who have suffered a lot.

"People there have suffered too much due to curfew,... essential commodities are not available," J&K state CPI(M) leader Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami told PTI.

"Besides relaxation of curfew, authorities should provide all possible assistance to the affected people. All arrangements should be made to provide basic necessities," he said.

Tarigami said there have been reports of considerable improvement in riot hit areas where curfew was imposed.

Meanwhile, the authorities lifted curfew in seven districts in the area and relaxed it for 4 hours in Kishtwar also. Curfew was imposed on Friday after communal clashes, in which 3 people were killed, over 20 others injured and 75 business establishments and 35 vehicles damaged in arson.
