Provide gas pipeline connectivity to MCFL, 2 others: Kumar

Union Minister Ananth Kumar today said that arrangements should be made to provide gas pipeline connectivity to the Naptha-based fertilizer plants including MCFL.

Kumar said this after a high-level meeting involving Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Power Minister Piyush Goyal and MoS Fertilizers Hansraj Gangaram Ahir.

During the meeting, Kumar asked the officials of concerned ministeries for looking into possibilities of providing the gas pipeline connectivity to Madras Fertilisers Ltd (MFL), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd, Mangalore, (MCFL) and Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Ltd, uticorin, (SPIC), the statement added.

"Revival of FCIL unit of Talcher through coal gasification technology is proposed through a joint Venture, to be set up soon. This was decided in a meeting," an official statement said today.
 

Issues like location and reservation of coal blocks for this fertilizer unit for the coal gasification purpose, revival of closed unit of FCIL of Gorakhpur and HFCL Unit of Barauni were also discussed in the meeting, the statement said.

Revival of closed unit of FCIL of Gorakhpur and HFCL Unit of Barauni also came up for detailed discussion during the meeting, it added.
