In a step forward towards making the steel city of Jamshedpur country's first "zero liquid discharge city", a Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant (PSTP) was today inaugurated at ISWP township here.
Tata Steel's 100 per cent subsidiary company "Jamshedpur Utility and Sevice Company (JUSCO), which provide municipal services in the Tata Steel command area and its periphery, has been working on this concept for a long time and now the idea is being implemented at many locations.
Neerajkant, Managing Director of Indian Steel and Wire Products (ISWP) inaugurated the 800 KLD Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant at ISWP Township today, according to Jusco press release here.

The project involves renovation of existing sewerage network and installation and commissioning of 3 PSTP's at ISWP and Jemco Township.
A total of 7000 residents will be benefitted with this project as their sewage network will now be connected with the PSTP in their respective localities.
The treated sewage can now be used for irrigation purpose in gardening or can be recycled inside the ISWP & Jemco Plant for industrial use.
