Bose composed 'Shaktipeeth', which revolves around Meghasini - a small fictitious hamlet inhabited by aboriginal tribes in the Marangburu area of south Bengal, for the Golf Green Sarodotsava Committee puja this year.
"This is for the the first time I have composed theme music for Durga Puja. When the organisers approached me, I told them I want to reach more people through my creation in terms of aesthetics," Bose, who collaborated with Pandit Ravi Shankar and Amjad Ali Khan, told a press meet here.
Bose, who made modern audio-visual interpretation of the episodes of Kach-Debjani, Karna-Kunti, Draupadi, Shakuntala, Gandhari, Brihannala and Hadimba in 'Mahabharata Revisited', said, "For Shaktipeeth I had carefully chosen the musical notes to create an eerie feeling as people would step into the 'garbhogriho'."
The vocals were rendered by two tribal singers from Purulia, Naren Hansda and Chapala Hansda, and the instruments used during Santhal festivals were madal (cymbal) dhamsa (drum), aarbansi (a kind of flute), madanbheri (another type of flute) and ghunghur (ankle bells), Bose said.
Bose says he wants to take the musical notes to the international audience after the festivities.
Ratul Shankar, son of eminent danseuse and actor Mamata Shankar who had turned up in Rituparno Ghosh's 'Utsab', will complement the acoustics part with his experience in dance troupe performance in different parts of the world.

"Ratul's lighting will accentuate the typical Santhal feel of the place and the musical scores which I have been blending for past several weeks," Tanmoy said.
Tapan Dasgupta, a member of the puja committee, said they were proud to have Tanmoy Bose in their midst.
