As Haryana celebrates its Golden jubilee tomorrow, the state government today declared November 1 as a public holiday in Gurugram district under Negotiable Instruments Act whereby banks and financial institutions shall remain closed.
The state has already declared November 1 a public holiday across the state on account of 'Haryana Day'.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at a function in Gurugram to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the state's formation tomorrow.
"It is hereby notified that Tuesday, November 1, 2016, shall also be observed as a public holiday on account of Haryana Day for Gurugram district within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881," the state chief secretary D S Dhesi said in a notification.
