Puducherry Assy to have brief budget session from March 30

: The 30-member assembly of Puducherry will have thebudget session (2017-2018) for two days from March 30.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy told reporters here that the decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by him here yesterday.

Narayanasamy said a vote on account would be adopted in the sessionfor earmarking funds as an interim arrangement as a full budget cannot be presented as the Finance Ministry's approval for the fund allocation sought was awaited.

Speaker V Vaithilingam, who is now in Delhi, told PTI that he had reconvened the session as the previous session on January 24 and 25 was adjourned sine die, but not prorogued.
 

The party wise break up in the House is: Congress (15 including Speaker), DMK (two), AINRC (eight) AIADMK (four) and Independent (one).
