The service would be on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The decision to start it followed a meeting with top Spice Jet officials today, the minister said in a release.
Rajavelu said fare details were also finalised at the meeting and he had requested them to ensure air service was available to Kochi, Tiruchirapalli, Madurai and Coimbatore from here.
